Once
again our Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is
about to begin. The weekly meetings are open to anyone wishing
to learn about the Catholic faith and are an excellent way
for life-long Catholics to review and reflect on what they
learned when younger. Please call the Parish Office at 831-623-2127
if you are interested in attending. The first meeting will
take place in late September or early October in the Parish
Library. RCIA meets every Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm in the
Parish Library.
This is the process that the Church uses to welcome non-baptized
adults, non-Catholics and those Catholics who have been baptized,
but have not received the sacraments of Penance, Holy Communion
and Confirmation. The process begins at the end of September
and lasts until Pentecost, the birthday of the Church. So
please come and discover more about the Catholic Church and
your personal relationship with God.
In parishes throughout the world this process has become
the means by which people enter into the Catholic Church.
There are three types of people who should consider joining
the RCIA:
| …People
who have NEVER been baptized; |
| …People
who have been baptized in a different Christian denomination; |
…People
who were baptized Catholic but did not receive any other
Sacraments. |
